Summer Time Bliss

the bliss of summer monsoons
I live in SE Arizona, where the Summer time is beginning to heat up with hot intensity. I swear my friends faces are starting to pucker up and everything is on a desperate search for moisture. A couple days ago clouds started to move in, big puffy white ones that tease us with ideas of monsoon rains. We look to the horizon in anticipation and wait patiently in the meantime, our trusty water bottle always close by for continual hydration.

Metaphors fascinate me, and I love using metaphors to help my clients gain new perspectives.  So, naturally,  I think about how this time is a metaphor for my own life right now.

Having just introduced and launched my 100 Day Challenge, things are certainly heating up with intensity in that area. I've had lots of response to the initial announcement and I'm excited about helping others get started on their path to Whole Health. (you can learn more about that at: http://tinyurl.com/4263jz)

The desperate search for moisture is not so much about desperation, but more about yearning. The moisture is the goodness that feeds me, allowing my life's garden to grow. I yearn for the moisture in the form of positive community, real intimacy, sense of purpose and Whole Health for myself. That yearning has me looking towards the horizon as I thrive to fully realize all those elements in my life.

The clouds starting to move in represent all the possibilities starting to come towards me. The are soft and gentle, no need to be afraid of them, and they are full of potential, ready to burst open in a refreshing storm of positive energy.

The water bottle is a metaphor for how I take care of and keep myself hydrated to remain healthy, juicy and alive. It is my container of bliss, which gets me through those dry spells that are filled with challenges attempting to melt me.

Soon, the monsoons will be here. When that happens you can find me dancing in the streets, welcoming the sweet rains of possibility and drinking in the bliss of summer.
